Jan. 15th, 2002 12:55 amWhile I was in Amherst someone called asking for me, so I got on the phone. It took me several conversation cycles to realize that it was some bozo selling something -- far longer than usual; usually it's suspicion on the first line they say and confirmation on the second. And when I did realize it, I was surprised and mildly disgusted. Of course this was because I don't expect phone spam for me on someone else's phone, which made me realize just how strongly I do expect it on my own. Surprise and disgust is the proper response.
