random day stuff

We went to a CMU Jazz Ensemble performance at the Carnegie, in the aftermath of Trey's birthday. They're very good. I should take jazz appreciation lessons or something.

I've been fiddling with audio in Logic. The noise floor I'm getting from the mics is rather distressing -- like 50 dB S/N. Some of it is computer fan noise, most of it is AC-related -- 120 Hz, 180, 60, 90(?). It's there going just mic to mixer to A/D. I hate electricity.
