It turns out Logic supports VST, not just DX (I don't much care to write DX), and even VSTi and DXi. They just don't put these things in their manual's index. I wonder if I could package Nyquist as a VSTi.

I decided even though I've heard HP Labs is in a hiring freeze (and now they're in this trainwreck with Compaq, sigh) I might as well wade through their god-awful HR process anyway. Hangy French web servers, seven pages of forms, required questions that don't make sense for U.S. citizens, yeesh, now I don't trust HP HR to find their own ass with an alethiometer.

scanning dragonflies

These people's gig is they catch dragonflies of various species, refrigerate them, scan them on a flatbed scanner, reheat them, and let them go. Beautiful little beasts.
