eubOkay, so I fudged it. I was out at dinner at the great moment. Corey was back in town, in his off-and-on process of moving to NYC, and he dictated Hoss's, which is a steak-for-the-whole-family kind of place over in Penn Hills. Eh food. Good conversation at our end of the table, though. And have you ever luckygoogled for "rent posse angry diseased monkeys"? You get an odd short story by Will Self, "The Rock of Crack as Big as the Ritz".
Oh, at the other end of the table, Tom Wagner, if you know him, has a great big picture in this week's Time mag, page 54. Nice photo -- Addie's coworker/supervisor/whatever at the "Shadyside" Geagle pharmacy (came with Ted, and we picked her up) wanted to know if he was single. He wrote a program that lets you snarf MPGs off your ReplayTV.
I sort of finished my dissertation today, kind of. It's not done finished. But I wrapped up the summary in the conclusions, and now it feels like "written from start to finish, with gaps in it" instead of "some parts still need to be written". (I think I'm morally opposed to putting a summary in with the conclusions, but my advisor advised me that some people would just skip to the conclusions, and pragmatically speaking had to be brought up to date when they got there. Fine. I ended up with about a ten-page summary and four pages of conclusions, which feels kinda off.)
