I haven't posted much because I don't have much to say. I feel like I'm drifting in space. The defense date is still not scheduled because one committee member has dropped off the face of the planet, and I'm not jaunting about on interviews because no companies will get back to me with a yes or no answer (which I'm afraid points towards "no"). All I really have to work on is practicing the defense talk. So it's hard to feel like I'm getting anything done. On top of this, I'm worried we're going to end up involuntarily unemployed.

Sigh, job hunting totally blows. There isn't much that is a bigger blow to your ego. i'm sorry.

It it makes you feel better, some companies are just slow. I advocated getting on their backs until they give you an answer. (Thats how i got my job, i eventually gave them an ultimatum: 'i really want to work for you, but if you don't give me an answer soon, i'll have to go somewhere else.') At least it shows that you're interested.
