Drove [livejournal.com profile] dr4b to work, so she'd have more time before the con.

Blew several hours on the web. This article on the history of World War II and the psychology of war is worth reading.

Visual Studio has such a weak excuse for a build system. Is there no way for one project to note an existing project as one on which it depends? Probably by hand-editing .ds[pw] files, but well before that point I'm just going to suck it up and use gmake.

Finally made a bulk batch of chai, as I've been meaning to do forever. This reminded me, tangentially, to initialize my mouthguard.

Picked [livejournal.com profile] dr4b up from work and dropped her off at the con hotel, near the airport, after a little navigational fun. (Note for future reference: the "International Boulevard" exit signifies 99.)

Came back for kajukenbo, got there twenty minutes early. I stretched extensively (and managed to get myself good and sore just doing that). A kids' class was finishing up, and to a student's drum rhythm our instructor was practicing a form with a fan. Today we did well-out-of-range air-sparring, kicks landing light contact, Monkey form practice, and finished Punch Attack 1. First Saturday tomorrow.

I dropped [livejournal.com profile] drakemonger off at his house, so my route home took me directly by Twice Sold Tales. I had to stop in. I had to get Richard Gilman's history of decadence. I did not have to get Pathological Cry, Stridor & Cough in Infants: A Clinical Acoustic Study just to own a book of that title, but it was a close thing.

Dinner was a pack of udon noodles. They're my new food fad.

Making popcorn.
Reading.
