what else I did today: cookery
May. 15th, 2003 11:59 pmMade chicken stock again, this time without the hacking up chicken backs. Prep still took a while, to saute first the onions and then four pounds of chicken backs in two batches. (That I had them frozen didn't help.)
Also apple cobbler from the Cook's Ill book. Much like Dee's recipe, except with some cornstarch and sugar in with the fruit, also a spoonful of bourbon (substituting for brandy). The bourbon turned out to be a nice touch.
Also.
Googling "hanged for a" brings up "As well be hanged for a sheep as a lamb."
The only hit for "Hello Kitty casket" is not work-safe.
