No need to go to Brunei - they're available in much of SE Asia. I had one in Bali - it did not have a very strong Durian flavor. Which is good, because I really don't like Durian...
Of course, my answers are slightly skewed simply because I dislike watermelon in general, so of course anything that is designed to taste like it is also going to make me go "ick".
Somehow, although I have a clear notion that artificial flavors can be nasty, none of these are particularly pushing my buttons. (Many of these are clearly artificial, but that's not what you asked.)
I do have a significant distaste for artificial butter flavor.
I don't eat things that have artificial fruit flavors. In general the smells of those foods gives me a headache. But when I was younger the nastiest artifial flavor I ever had in my mouth was Bubble Gum. Yes, someone thought making Bubble Gum flavored liquid medicine would entice me to take it. HA!
When I was a child, if I tried a candy and discovered it was artificial banana flavor, I would simply spit it out - if nessecary, onto a shag carpet. Artificial banana flavor tastes like death.
Of all the artificial froot flavors, I find lemon to be the overall least offensive. However, you left out lychee! which is IMO nasty regardless of its artificiality.
I don't know if I've ever had "fresh" durian, but I shocked many people by purchasing and eating an enormous container of durian flavored gel snacks. Okay, I didn't eat them all in one sitting, there were too many.
Now that I think about it, there may have been fresh durian nuggets embedded in the gels. In any event, they were quite tasty.
All this talk of tasty fruit embedded in gels has me hungry -- time to go seek out the relevant part of my lunch. Mmmmm.
My husband and I had a similar discussion last weekend. We both agreed that "cherry flavored" anything is nasty, plus reminds us of cough syrup or cold medicines.
The exception is Cherry Coke. For some reason that's acceptable. Maybe the carbonation and acidity of the Coke cancel out the funknasty qualities of the cherry flavor?
I think artificial strawberry is the worst and artificial banana is the best and the other people voting seem to think the opposite.
I just love, love, love banana popsicles. The theory is that it is because that was my mom's big craving when she was pregnant with me and she apparently ate a LOT of them.
I think a.strawberry is pretty bad, but I like a.banana less. Neither really competes with the scary turquoise melon candy, though. That stuff is truly dreadful.

And I think there are a reasonable number of "good" artificial flavors. Lemon is good as well as strawberry.

How funny.
