visiting trees

eubPatchy clouds all day, and I wanted sun to go around and take pictures of trees, before they leaf out fully. Around noon the sun came through for a while, but by the time I was ready to go out, it was behind a large raft of cloud. I waited, and took pictures of the African violet's almost-flower.
When a mostly-clear patch showed, I went out on a tour of nearby trees I had noticed at various times while driving around, and jotted down on a parking receipt.

Laurie gave me a great book for Christmas last year called "Meetings with Remarkable Trees" by Thomas Pakenham because we saw redwoods and Sequoias last summer on our trip to California. The book is mainly photographs and was based on trees in the UK. You may find it interesting.
