weird loaf
Jan. 6th, 2003 10:21 pmI implemented this recipe for rice-nut-cheese loaf, for some reason. It's not bad, but on the bland side. The cheese was a blend of what I had lying around, viz. myzithra, which was fine, and a random sheep's-milk, which was too sheepish and stuck out.
Improvised mushroom sauce makes anything tasty: 1/4 c. chopped dried porcini in 1/3 c. hot water, pureed, with 1 tsp soy sauce and a dab of butter. I then added some cream, which was an error; it weakened the shrooms.
Mashed potatoes are always good.
Most of today I spent in Discovery Park. Saw the Black Rabbit of Inle.
