Last day of commuting over 520. Next week I move to the new Fremont office, on the Burke-Gilman.
I ate what said it was Douglas-fir sorbet. It totally tasted citrusy. I wonder if it was grand fir. Land's sake.

ok i went a-googling, and found recipes. i so totally want to try it.

uses lemon juice. i guess that version would explain the citrus taste

some reviews i came across talked about their experience being more like "pine-sol from the freezer".

I bet the flavor depends on what time of year you harvest the branch tips, too. Experimentation is needed!

i bet you're right. *goes off to harvest needles for the first experiment*. clearly the new growth next year needs to be tested as well.

The second URL's recipe is attributed to the chef of the restaurant we were at, so you'd expect that (1:1 water:sugar?) to be what we ate, but I dunno.
Would be glad to taste an array of sorbets harvested in different seasons, for science.
