how to sew a bat holding bag
Jun. 18th, 2008 11:34 pmPDF
These bags are for holding bats after they are captured for research. All the seams must be outside the bag, so the bats do not get tangled in them, as they will be released after they are weighted, measured and banded. These bags will be washed in bleach after each use to prevent disease transmission.

Date: 2008-06-19 08:19 am (UTC)I found out that the zoo autoclaves 'enrichment materials' taken from one animal (often prey, eg, elk antlers) to another (often predators, eg, wolves), to prevent disease transmission.
Someone asked 'What is an autoclave?' and someone else answered something that an autoclave definitely isn't (maybe 'an oven' but I think it was further off than that), but now I can't remember exactly what was said.
