I've never hiked the dry side of the Olympics before. The dry side of the Olympics is Lonicera utahensis's complete range in Washington (IIRC; I can't find that range map again), so I did a double-take and said heeey that's not red huckleberry.
The other thing I encountered more than I'm used to was people smoking tobacco. Who does that? In the backcountry?
