left and right

Speaking of driving lessons: one of my failings as an instructor turns out to be that I can't keep left and right straight. I've always had some difficulty with this (couldn't tell one from the other until in first grade my special ed teacher taught me the "your left hand makes an L" trick), but not usually so often these days. I kind of imagine it's from being on an unusual side of the car.

I do that too. But I don't think it has anything to do with being on the wrong side.

Don't feel bad! When I was in the military, I had a hell of a time remembering my right from left on the parade ground. It was embarassing

I have the same problem...and if you ask me, both hands make an "L"...it's just that one is backwards :-)

When I taught dance for the SCA, this was sometimes confusing for all involved, but we dealt :-)

I also have trouble reliably identifying left and right. I have trouble with east and west too, but not north and south.
