kw was giving us a ride to Tasty Chinese (it's very good, really), and said to her oh, why don't you drive, but she's been learning on automatics. So after dinner we went to the Edgewood K-mart hinterlot and I just sat in the back and tried to shut up since I don't drive stick worth beans. She did great. Achieved forward motion on only the second or third start, and after an hour she was up to at least 80% start rate, going into second, stopping, all that good stuff. I meant to take a turn at the end to give a reference for true suckiness but got distracted because at that point we had entered FRANTIC PEE MODE. Too many styrofoam cups of tea.

Boy have I been there... several times a week, in fact. It's a fabulous descripition, thought, I love it. :)
