Dee had her hair gathered in two places near the forehead that stretched back and joined into a ponytail. Naturally this prompted us to generalize the hairstyle to higher n, with 2ⁿ strands near the hairline joining and rejoining into a complete binary tree with a ponytail at the root. Dee suggested red and black hairbands.

for some reason every time i walk into Eli's office and he has Portishead on, it's always the song "Roads". i don't understand why.

anyway, so one of these days if i get letter or numeral beads, i'm going to try the 2^n hairdo. hehe. the only question is whether to start it from the top or the bottom.

I'm definitely on the side of the leaves-at-the-front, since the other way I think they'd all dangle together so you couldn't see the tree structure, and also I like the transgressive value of a normal vanilla ponytail at the root. But you can do one and I can do the other. Or you could be a red-black tree and I can be a splay tree, and we can engage in a celebrity deathmatch deploying our own special worst-case and amortized finishing moves.
