My kitten pictures are the way I want them in Photoshop, but in IE on Dee's machine they show up disgustingly dark. I can't figure out who to blame. When I'm working with computers, I like to know who to blame.

This is even between Photoshop and IE on the same PC.

Argh! Well that certainly sucks. What does other software have to say on the matter? (For example, does Netscape agree with Photoshop, IE, or neither?)

JPEG format: leaving something that important unspecified sounds pretty stupid to me. Sigh.

Looks to be Photoshop's fault. On a gamma test image, it shows 1.8, while IE and a couple of image viewers show 2.3 or so; I wonder if Photoshop is helpfully trying to enforce Mac gamma. No way to adjust it, that I can see. I guess I have to calculate the remapping curve to correct this and apply it to each image just before sending it out the door.

This is "Photoshop LE", to be accurate. Well, Deanna was lusting after the real thing anyway. But if it doesn't fix this I'm going to hurl it into the sun.
