The sordid truth is, I would rather have landed at the other end of the dinner table. It's not that I don't like the people I was in conversation radius of, honest, but I kept wanting to crane towards the other end to try to pick up a conversation going on there. Consequently I felt like a prat.

I wish restaurants had soundproof booths so ten people could sit down and all talk to each other, and I wouldn't have this greed for the central seat.
