eubLook at what's in today's Botany Photo of the Day: the houseplant "string of beads". First, it's a groundsel! Second, it has windows in its leaf-beads, to light their skin from inside too.
(Who else uses this architecture? Complex-thallused liverworts. Some cacti IIRC? It sure seems a succulent-type strategy.)
